Vidya Balan beautiful kiss

“Parineeta” girl Vidya Balan is impressed with Aishwarya Rai’s grace and elegance and is full of praise for the way she conducts herself.

“I don’t think glamour is about taking off clothes. If it were so, Madhubala, Rekha or Sridevi wouldn’t have been glamorous. Rekha in all her finery and jewellery is so glamorous. And Aishwarya Rai… she’s the epitome of grace. I truly admire the way she conducts herself. Even her sneeze is written about. That can’t be easy,” Vidya told IANS in an interview.

Pretty Vidya Balan is elated. The actress, who started her career with a Bengali film, is doing a second one now for director Gautam Haldar and feels the experience is like going back to her roots.

“I feel I was a Bengali in my last life. In fact, when Ritu-da (Rituparno Ghosh) offered me a Hindi film, I shocked him by requesting him to do a Bengali film with me,” Vidya told IANS in an interview.

The movie she is most looking forward to doing in 2008 is Haldar’s Bengali film.

Vidya is a night bird! Before coming to any wrong conclusions we need to clarify that Vidya just loves shooting for schedules kept during the night time. “Vidya feels that a energy levels are high during the night rather than in the day. During the day the heat saps her making her energy levels go down. She likes shooting in the nights,” said a close freind of the actress.Being energetic, Vidya has the units in splits. “She keeps the unit awake with her sense of humour. It keeps them hooked to work. Vidya is her chirpiest in the night,” said the friend. Guess after Mr. Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan, Vidya is the next insomniac on the block!

Genelia D’Souza, the bubbly heroine of the youth flick ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ has been signed up by the comedy director David Dhawan for his film ‘Hook Ya Crook’.

Interestingly the role that Genelia is doing was supposed to be done by Vidya Balan. But reportedly Bipasha Basu freaked out when she heard that her boyfriend John Abraham was working with Vidya. Well, looks like the rumors during the shoot of ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’ are still fresh in her mind!

‘Hook Ya Crook’ is a comedy romance produced by UTV that will begin shooting from January 7th in Hyderabad. Uday Chopra is the other star of the movie.

Vidya has been shooting in Wai for the past two months now. But the livewire that she is, trust her to get bored! “Vidya is the party of the unit! Unit members relate to her down to earth attitude. The actress makes everybody feel at home. In fact being with Vidya is like a home away from home,” said unit member smiling. And what does Vidya during her offs? “She goes boating with her staff. Vidya treats her staff like her own family. They have a ball all together. At times she even invites the unit members to join her. No wonder they say that Vidya is a treat on the sets,” the unit member said.

Vidya Balan ditched Sooraj Barjatya at the last minute. This may sound shocking but it is actually true! Rajshri Productions’ Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi was to star Vidya Balan in the lead opposite Bobby Deol originally. But now the November 7th releasing film has Eesha Koppikar along with Sonu Sood playing the main lead. So what went wrong?

Guess what! Vidya’s an excellent mimic! A unit member revealed, “Vidya can imitate other actors with utmost ease! It’s a treat to watch her take off on them.” This keeps the unit entertained. “Vidya is the life of our night schedules. She is high in spirits even at 4 in the morning. Neither does she nor does she let other get bogged down by dullness. Vidya is always smiling and cracking jokes. The grueling schedules do not look grueling any more.”

There was practicallly a Raj Kapoor kind of Kal, Aaj Aur Kal scene on the sets of Vishal Bharadwaj’s Ishqiya. Vidya Balan’s 80-year-old aunt had accompanied Vidya’s mother and sister to the shoot in Wai. “It was quite a sight to watch the three women of three different generations interacting with each other. Vidya’s aunt was pretty excited to watch the shooting of the film,” revealed a unit member. Vidya’s aunt has been avid Hindi film buff. “This was the first time that she had actually got an opportunity to watch a film shoot. She was as excited as a child in a toy store. Vidya’s aunt was amused by the constant call for silence on the sets. She also felt worried for the assistant director! The AD’s constant screaming, she feared, would make him lose his voice.”
