After the successful run of Goal and Race in Pakistan, UTV and Eveready Pictures combination is back with yet another offering for Bollywood cinema’s most rapidly growing overseas market.

This time its Aziz Mirza’s, Kismat Konnection that released across Pakistan. A red carpet premiere was held at Karachi’s Nishat cinema to mark the event.

“Kismat Konnection has done very well. It’s had a bigger opening than Race. This is our third film with UTV and it’s our hatrick hit we could say. My exhibitors are calling this film Kismat collection, so we are obviously very happy that we’ve given Pakistan another fantastic film to watch,” said Tanya Anand, Executive Director Eveready Pictures.

It is a common question that people ask when an actress rocks in other language movies than her own mother tongue; “When you are going to act in your mother tongue, since you hail from our state?” Though the question has become a cliché by being asked to many actresses in Kollywood, Tollywood and Bollywood, some times it evokes our curiosity, when it comes to a pretty actress like Vidya Balan!

In fact Vidya Balan, a Malayalee by birth, was offered a role in a Malayalam film titled Chakram opposite Mohanlal. But the film was unfortunately abandoned mid-way through production. Now it is her turn to answer the question about her debut into Malayalam!

The term ‘meteoric’ and ‘kismat’ are often used to describe the career paths of film actors. It is usually inaccurate, ignoring a plethora of dodgy TV shows and unwatchable movies made while the subject gradually and painfully learns their craft. With Vidya Balan though, meteoric and kismat are absolutely on the nail. Within a mere three years of her feature debut Parineeta, she has now become one of the most sought-after actresses in Bollywood. More importantly perhaps, she is already one of the most compelling, convincing and adaptable actors around. In this exclusively long chat us, Vidya recalls her past with Vidhu Vinod Chopra, her present with Aziz Mirza, her future with Shahid Kapoor and of course, lots more about Kismat Konnection.

Vidya Balan while giving an interview said that Shahid Kapoor and she are good friends and “great co-stars”. She also said that she don’t meet any co-star outside the work.

When she was asked about Shahrukh Khan, She said that Shahrukh Khan is a living legend and she doesn’t feel herself close to his level.

Interestingly when she was asked about Bollywood stars whom she feels are good looking, she didn’t mention Shahid Kapoor’s name. Shahrukh Khan was the first name when she was mentioning good looking Bollywood stars but John Abraham, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan were also in the list.

Celebrity actress, Vidya Balan has given an exclusive interview on her kismat of working with Aziz Mirza and her connection with Shahid Kapoor.

Do you believe in kismat?

I’m a firm believer in kismat. The fact that you, and not someone else, has come to interview me is because we were destined to meet.

What has made you such a firm believer in kismat?

Vidya Balan was seen a few days ago at the launch of a jewelery showroom in Hyderabad.

She is one of the main reasons we need fashion policing for our stars. I mean just look at her! Why is it so difficult to go and buy yourself a nice pair of well fitting jeans? Also is that a kurta or did she pluck the top from a salwar set? It looks fugly and doesn’t go with the jeans at all. The accessories are non-existent, but of course, no amount of accessories can save this disaster.
