Vidya Balan drops heavy hints about a budding romance but still won’t let the love kitty out of the bag entirely. Filmfare valiantly plays nosey parker
What is the uppermost thought in your mind these days?
Sleep, food and times with loved ones (giggles).
Should we make that ‘loved one?’
I said what I had to. You decode it.
Okay…
And romantic music on a long drive (giggles some more).
Can we safely assume you are over Shah Rukh Khan?
No! I’ll never be over Shah Rukh. I know I’ve been going to town saying I want to have an affair with him but the truth is I don’t. You don’t want to picture him having an affair somehow. SRK has this dependable image where you imagine him to be in love with just one woman for the rest of his life. Pity it’s not me.
How’s Vidya Balan in a relationship?
You’ll have to ask him.
Who?
Whoever I was, am, will be seeing.
Would that be Siddharth Roy Kapur (CEO, UTV Motion Pictures) at the moment? You’ve been linked a little too strongly with him recently.
You know, the initials excite me. SRK. Hahahahaha. Every pun intended. Well, Siddharth is the producer of my last film No One Killed Jessica (NOKJ)… (trails off)
Okay let’s try another tack. Are you single or taken?
Let’s just say I’m single until I’m married.
So are you relieved that finally you have been linked with someone else other than Shahid Kapoor?
I guess, not just me, even Shahid must be relieved! Its some kind of move from SK to SRK. Don’t you think?
The two of you never admitted to being anything more than friends. Are you still in touch?
Hmmm… See we got along famously during Kismat Konnection. But it’s difficult to sustain friendships beyond the film. But we do wish each on birthdays and occasions. We also did an impromptu jig at a recent award function. Really, there is nothing more to say…
Is there any resentment about your last relationship?
No. There is no bitterness. I don’t blame anyone. You can’t fight it if two people are not meant to be together. But it’s nice to have been through that than to have never explored it at all. Until you decide that it’s time to move on, nothing anyone says can make you. Actually, the most important lesson I learnt is that you should never use someone as a crutch to get over someone else.
Okay last one. What advice would you give someone who is trying to woo you?
Let’s just say it’s working (Smiles).

Vidya Balan is one of the best actresses we have, no doubt. No doubt she’s revered by her fans and movie lovers alike. But imagine her surprise when a teenager bowed down to touch her feet as she was walking out of the Lakme Fashion week in Delhi recently. The teen wanted her blessings so he promptly bent down. But Vidya was dumbfounded and so were the others around her.

Vidya Balan has got a new nickname these days. Everyone is referring to the actress as Baby Balan — thanks to the slew of mommy roles she has been doing of late, the most recent one being in Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani.
Earlier too she played a mother in Sajid Khan’s Heyy Baby and Balki’s Paa. Now for Sujoy’s film, Vidya has been sporting a baby bump and looking quite comfortable with it. Needless to say, the director is only too pleased with his actress. “It’s a story of a woman who is six months pregnant and traces her journey from thereon. I had written the script keeping Vidya in mind. I wouldn’t have made the film without her. For me she’s a perfectionist who has beautifully brought the character alive,” said the director.
Guess Baby Balan is doing her director proud!

A plump Vidya Balan in bright sari, walking the ramp for designer Sabyasachi, certainly didn’t look showstopper material.
What’s happening to Vidya Balan? She is getting predictable and thereby boring by the day. Vidya Balan in sari and Vidya Balan with favourite designer Sabyasachi are two things that fail to grab your attention now. Despite that the actress walked the ramp for Sabyasachi on Day 5 of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. And expectedly she was dressed in a sari!
But what was appalling this time is Vidya’s puppy fat. The actress who has put on considerable weight was certainly not looking showstopper material. Apparently she has gained weight to play her character modeled on the lines of Silk Smitha in her upcoming film ‘ The Dirty Picture ‘. South sex symbol Silk Smitha was known for her flabby figure and thunder thighs and Vidya too is supposed to look like her.
We understand Vidya Balan getting into her character to play the role. But getting on to the ramp is certainly not her cup of tea.

As if Lindsay Lohan being mistaken for Lady Gaga wasn’t bizarre enough, now it seems there is a resemblance between our desi beauty Vidya Balan and international socialite Kim Kardashian! Did you ever think this was possible? Well, if Vidya Balan is to be believed an Australian gay did. In her inter action with the media during the Wills India Fashion Week, she revealed that she was mistaken by an Australian gay to be sex-bombshell Kim Kardashian, reported Spicezee.
“I am gay, but you are really hot. By any chance, are you Kim Kardashian?” Vidya quoted the man to say.
“I didn`t know what to say, so I just smiled,” an embarassed Balan admitted.
Well, films like Ishqiya and Dirty Picture sure are proof that Balan can get just as sexy and sensuous as Kardashian.

Balan needs a new stylist, new wardrobe or in the least, some fresh imagination
I look good in sarees. Only sarees. Nothing but sarees. And the same kind of sarees.’ Vidya Balan’s fashion motto seems to be getting too monotonous and unimaginative these days.
Wrapping a plain chiffon number with a thin embroidered border, and little else might have been a fashion statement once, but not anymore.
The beautiful Balan wore a green saree sans jewellery when she danced with Shah Rukh Khan and Hugh Jackman.
And again its yellow cousin at a recent fashion event while walking the ramp. The black clutch or the orange (yes, orange) bindi could hardly salvage the outfit.
Maybe, its time to set her imagination free. And not only in the accessories department, where she needs to rein her colourful fantasies if anything.
After all, what the hell was she thinking while carrying a nimbu-mirchi plastic keychain?
1. Vidya Balan walks the ramp with her favourite designer and a black clutch
2. The actress wards off evil with nimbu mirchi toy at Filmfare
3. Balan’s affinity to this look dates back to her Paa days

It was a splendid tribute to contemporary and classic fashion at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week ( WIFW) grand finale Sunday as the ramp came alive with designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s vibrant colourful collection. Also present was his favourite muse Vidya Balan .
The ramp was transformed into a vintage set reminiscent of an old British library. Set against a backdrop of life-sized iconic fashion bibles, the all black wooden ramp was bedecked with flamboyant colourful bulbs. The finale opened with a stellar performance by famous performer Kiya from London and Vidya walking with the designer.
Mukherjee’s collection was inspired by paintings of three of his favourite artists – Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and Paul Gauguin.
“The collection was inspired from the 1960s and 1970s style in the international market.
The silhouettes were sports meets retro-rock on a colour palate which varies from black and white with a mix of super bright colours as well. But the entire range used Indian handicrafts fabrics like textured khadi, a little bit of zardozi, beaten and burnt crystals and lace,” said Mukherjee after the show.
The collection was high on functionality with models sporting the retro-meets- contemporary look. The garments which grabbed eyeballs were modern versions of the flared 1950′s skirts with sporty elastic that made them fuss free and floor-touching dresses.
Vidya, dressed up in traditional yellow sari, was seen cheering for the designer.

Vidya Balan, who starred with Naseeruddin Shah in Ishqiya, will soon share screen-space with the actor in Milan Luthria’s Dirty Picture.
The shooting of the film is slated to begin this month but Vidya, who is a little nervous about her dancing skills, has already started rehearsing with Naseer and the choreographer at Milan’s office in Mumbai.
Besides Dirty Picture, Vidya will also be seen in a different avatar in Santosh Sivan’s highly-anticipated Urumi and will have cameos in Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maaro Dum and Anees Bazmee’s Thank You.
Apart from her contemporaries who can’t stop raving about her, it seems like the talented artiste has found a new fan in Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman. When the actress, who recently met Hugh at FICCI, and also collected the Best Actress Award for Ishqiya from him, asked him whether he would like to be paired opposite her in Ishqiya 2, Hugh answered in the affirmative! Way to go, Vidya!
Amitabh Bachchan , who is presently shooting in Mumbai for Bbuddah-Hoga Tera Baap —his home production— took time out from his busy schedule to cheer for Team India in the ICC World Cup finals without actually watching the match.
A superstitious Big B believed that every time he had switched on the television to check the score during the previous matches, India had lost a wicket! So, this time around, he chose to sit in another room and asked his son Abhishek to constantly update him about the score.

Vidya Balan, who has been linked with movie producer Siddharth Roy, seems to have enjoyed her trip to Khandala and back with Siddharth at the wheel. The two were spotted entering a hotel and having food at a restaurant before heading back home the same day.
It can be remembered that Vidya and Siddharth were also spotted in Goa in February. The couple who is probably getting to know each other before any kind of announcement or committment seems to find their time to spend together.
Neither of the two has admitted or denied their relationship. However, when we met up with Siddharth’s brother Aditya recently, he did confirm that the Roy family was indeed bride hunting for Siddharth but remained mum on the Vidya Balan-Siddharth romance.
