Even though they do not admit it, but Vidya “Parineeta” Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapoor, head of UTV, have been dating for sometime. But all is not well for them as there is a point of difference between the two.

Roy Kapoor wants to cast Bachchan bahu Aishwarya, instead of Balan, as the lead in UTV’s next production “Heroine”, directed by Madhur “Fashion” Bhandarkar. Siddhartha has been in touch with Aishwarya and has even persuaded her to do the movie. He has even gone on to say that if she wants she shall be provided with a narration of the script.

On the other hand, Balan is also doing a movie based on South Indian glam doll Silk Smitha. For this reason, Bhandarkar wants to put his project on the back burner. But, Siddharth seems to be in a rush to start of with his movie.

Balan is known to do offbeat roles like those in “Paa”, “Ishqiya” and “Bhool Bhulaiya”. Ash has of late done fewer roles. Her last released movie being “Action Replayy” with Akshay “Khiladi” Kumar in 2010. Hopefully, this movie will not lead to the souring of Ash n Vidya Balan’s relationship.

MasterChef Australia judge Matt Preston invited Vidya Balan out to brunch

Vidya Balan has found a fan in renowned world food critic and Masterchef Australia judge, Matt Preston.

After being honoured by the Mayor of Melbourne Robert Doyle during her recent trip Down Under, the actress was pleasantly surprised to receive a brunch invitation from Preston.

The two shared a meal at Bondi’s renowned Iceberg Bistro where they chatted about cinema and gourmet food. Matt also gifted Vidya a recipe book as he knew of the star’s penchant for cooking.

High praise

Says a source, ” Matt is a big fan of Bollywood cinema and immediately extended a brunch invitation to Vidya when he realised that she was in town for an event.

Not only did he praise her calling her one of the finest actresses but also promised to teach her a trick or two about cooking.”

The actress jumped at the offer on condition that Matt would teach her some gourmet vegetarian fare.

“Vidya is a pure vegetarian and loves cooking herself Matt obliged to teach her a few dishes and the two spoke about movies for quite a while” adds the source.

Vidya was in Australia for the 2011 Indian Film Festival: Bollywood and Beyond, where her films are being showcased.

She is one of the most eligible bachelorettes of Bollywood, but Vidya Balan says that she is not looking for ‘Mr Right’ and is instead focusing on her career. The actress, who was recently in Melbourne where there was a retrospective section dedicated to her at the Indian Film Festival 2011 that runs in Australia and New Zealand throughout March, laughed off reports that she is engaged to Siddharth Roy Kapur, head honcho of UTV Motion pictures.

“I like his height so he might be worth considering,” quipped Balan, adding, “There is no Mr Right, it just becomes right in love.” The actress said that she now wants to do comedy roles but such films invariably don’t have enough for the girls to do.

Vidya balan has been chosen this year to promote WWF’s Earth Hour 2011 campaign in India. Earth Hour is observed by switching off lights for an hour on March 27 every year.

When contacted, Vidya texted back, “Yes, I’m endorsing Earth Hour campaign in India this year. Being the first Bollywood woman to be doing that makes me feel proud of the fact.”

Vidya Balan has been chosen to be the brand ambassador for the ongoing Sleep Awareness Month and will be spreading awareness about sleep disorders like developed risk of hypertension followed by insulin resistance, obesity and diabetes.

This Tere Bin Laden star who was sitting next to Vidya Balan was hit by an unexpected question infront of the whole press from the Tamil beauty if he was Single? This abruptness surprised Ali Zafar but he cleverly covered his confusion with a smile. Press was however amused by this bold gesture of Vidya and captured an embarassed Ali Zafar on camera.

It is pertinent to mention here that Ali Zafar is the first Pakistani actor to have been invited to this film festival in Australia. This festival which commenced in Melbourne on 11th of March will go through 20th of March and feature 30 films including 15 Australian premiere.

Buzz was in the air that Parineeta girl Vidya Balan and renowned film corporation UTV’s head honcho Siddharth Roy Kapoor are likely to get engaged.

A top industry source stated “Vid and Sid are close. And in the past weeks they have been spotted spending quality time with each other on two occasions.”

The source added, “The first time was when they reportedly stayed back after an awards night in Singapore and more recently when they were photographed in casual attire at a beach destination in India.”

The two indeed had kept mum about their relationship status but Vidya had recently let the cat out of the bag.

At an award function held recently, Sajid Khan the host of the show accompanied by Shah Rukh Khan asked Vidya about the special ‘SK’ in her life.

To this Vidya gave a coy smile and stated “It’s not SK but its SRK”. Well she was not hinting at Shah Rukh Khan but Siddharth Roy Kapur who also shares the same initials as that of King Khan.
