No wonder she believes that she is fortunate to have worked in the kind of films that have not just challenged her as an actor but also time and again validated her decision making abilities.

vidya20balan20unveils20spacetoon20cartoon20character20in20cci20on2014th20april2020092024If Abhishek Bachchan has carried his dad playing the progeric Auro piggyback in Paa, Vidya Balan had to carry another actor playing the same character’s younger version. The problem was, the physically-challenged 3-foot actor was almost the same weight as Vidya. She tripped and fell while doing the scene.

His name is Little Kiran. But he’s anything but little age-wise. Though height-challenged 3-feet nothing, Little Kiran who has played parts in a number of Hollywood films including segments of Narnia, The Lord Of The Rings and Star Trek was brought to Mumbai to play Vidya Balan’s progeric son at a younger age than the Big B.

ggShe loves children and the prospect of motherhood, but Vidya Balan insists she’s not ready for marriage.

I want to get married first, but I’m not ready yet because I still haven’t found that someone,” says Vidya. However, the actress admits that shooting for Paa has taught her some things about herself. “At first, I was sceptical about taking up this role because kids are usually wary around me. I was also a bit apprehensive about playing a mother to a 13-year-old. But my brother-in-law told me that I’d never get the opportunity to act in a film like this again. So, I took it up. Once I did the film, my maternal instincts were awakened,” explains Vidya.

She’s had a steady run, though she’s not made the superstar grade. Beginning with “Parineeta” (2005), she’s made an impact with both “Lage Raho Munnabhai” (2006) and “Bhool Bhulaiya” (2007) and has in her bag films as assorted as “Eklavya,” “Salaam-e-Ishq,” “Halla Bol,” “Guru,” “Heyy Babyy” and “Kismat Konnection.” Today, Vidya Balan has what can be considered “twin towers” on hand in terms of meaty roles — “Paa,” releasing Dec. 4, and “Ishqiya” in the following week.

PAA Auro falls from mom Vidya Balan shoulder!!

November 11th, 2009

By Jilawatan

vidyaabhishek1Of course, it was not Amitabh Bachchan who plays the character of Auro in Balki’s upcoming flick ‘Paa’, but a child artiste playing young Amitabh in the film who fell from Vidya Balan’s shoulder, creating commotion on the sets of the film.

Sources close to production unit reveal that the particular sequence required Vidya Balan to carry the young Amitabh (played by a child artiste) on her frail shoulders (Vidya Balan weighs only 45 kg, while the child artiste was also of the same weight). Though, it seemed rather a Herculean task for a person of Vidya Balan’s weight to carry the child of equal weight, she volunteered to complete the shot.
