Even though they do not admit it, but Vidya “Parineeta” Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapoor, head of UTV, have been dating for sometime. But all is not well for them as there is a point of difference between the two.

Roy Kapoor wants to cast Bachchan bahu Aishwarya, instead of Balan, as the lead in UTV’s next production “Heroine”, directed by Madhur “Fashion” Bhandarkar. Siddhartha has been in touch with Aishwarya and has even persuaded her to do the movie. He has even gone on to say that if she wants she shall be provided with a narration of the script.

On the other hand, Balan is also doing a movie based on South Indian glam doll Silk Smitha. For this reason, Bhandarkar wants to put his project on the back burner. But, Siddharth seems to be in a rush to start of with his movie.

Balan is known to do offbeat roles like those in “Paa”, “Ishqiya” and “Bhool Bhulaiya”. Ash has of late done fewer roles. Her last released movie being “Action Replayy” with Akshay “Khiladi” Kumar in 2010. Hopefully, this movie will not lead to the souring of Ash n Vidya Balan’s relationship.

Now-a-days Ishqiya girl, Vidya Balan is on a break. This has happened after the publishing of her fake pictures in the cover page of one of the famous magazine. This magazine will be released in coming month. This is considered to be the toughest assignment ever.

So now it seems that Vidya would go for a break to stay away from the b-town. The latest buzz is that, the actress loves to have a different midnight dance for her own good reasons. It was told by onlookers that the actress doesn’t spend her night without having a midnight music outburst.

Recently Vidya’s image was hampered by exposing her fake photos in two-piece. The morphed photos were released in net and the 33 years old actress was very furious about this act. However, the midnight routine is not affected at all after this whole issue. She still continues her midnight dance. It appears as if Vidya is aware of that in next few days she is not going to get time to do all this quest. This is because of her busy schedule which will start from next month.

VIDYA ON MAXIM?

Search for Vidya Balan online and be prepared for some racy pictures. You will definitely find one of Vidya in a lacy, black bikini or an even more revealing silver number.

Many were shocked by the steamy photos, but no one more than Vidya herself! When asked about her “debut” on Maxim Magazine, she believed someone had made a mistake. She told TOI, “When I heard there was a picture of me in a bikini on a magazine cover, I thought someone was being mistaken for me because I haven’t done a shoot like this. But I was shocked when I saw it. I will be taking proper legal action against the people who are responsible for this.”

The photograph uses photo software to morph an existing picture of Vidya’s face onto the body of someone else. Last December, a similar morphed photo appeared of Sonakshi Sinha on Maxim magazine’s cover. Other actresses to fall victim to this kind of defamation include Khushboo and Celina Jaitly.

Vidya’s introduction into Bollywood was defined by traditional and modest roles. However, after her most recent releases – Ishqiya and No One Killed Jessica, Vidya teeters on that line between bold and controversial and the actress is not stopping there. Her forthcoming projects include the intriguing The Dirty Picture playing Bollywoo’s Silk Smitha.

But engagement though is not on the cards yet. To Vidya Balan, love is when you begin to see yourself in another person’s eyes and you like what you see there. On her recent trip to the city, the actor decodes ‘Ishqiya’

Critical acclaim, commercial success and controversies. All that has been part of Vidya Balan’s life in the recent past. And now, there are also rumours of her getting engaged to corporate honcho Siddharth Roy Kapur — who also happens to be the elder brother of actor Aditya Roy Kapur of “Guzaarish” fame. Kolkatans have even gone to the extent of claiming that since she loves all things Bengali, she has chosen to date someone with a Bengali surname! But, fact is, Siddharth Roy Kapur doesn’t have roots in Bengal and the Roy part of his surname has a Punjab-connect . Vidya, who was in town to promote her commercial with Chandrabindoo, shares her Kahaani.

Vidya Balan: Delightfully Regal at 2011 Global Indian Film and TV Awards

Foregoing her usual silk saris, Vidya Balan exuded royal charm in a cranberry red churidar outfit at the Balaji Films’ organized Global Indian Film and TV Honors 2011 at Yash Raj Studios on February 12 in Mumbai.

The 33-year-old Ishqiya star was named Best Actor In A Lead Role – Female for the 2010 film at the event.

In terms of talent, Vidya Balan is Bollywood royalty, so there is no reason why she shouldn’t dress up like a princess. But she could be faulted for being over-dressed – literally, if not metaphorically.

Balan charmed in a patterned long sleeve shirt that had an embellished velvet stand collar with matching cuffs and hem. She paired it with a matching satin churidar.

She accessorized with golden encrusted heels and giant ethnic jhumkas.

Her long lustrous hair, styled in loose waves and middle parting, draped her shoulders. Nude lipstick, bold eyebrows and smoky eye makeup rounded her alluring looks.

Way to go Balan!

Koffee ghar ghar ki

Actor Vidya Balan’s thumb-sucking act in Abhishek Chaubey’s Ishqiya may have elevated the sex quotient of Hindi cinema, but her desperate attempts at recreating that scene by sucking Rani Mukherjee’s thumb in season 3 of Koffee with Karan, looked outrageous and as some said, not very dignified. Nor was Saif Ali Khan’s response “Reliable, Strong and Long”, when KJo asked him what would be his tagline if he ever endorsed a product. Kareena Kapoor looked away innocently but few missed the thrill that coursed through her eyes. Koffee With Karan, as critics have noted, is the new confessional chamber of Bollywood, showing B-town celebrities for what they really are. A bunch of ambitious, brash and cheeky people, as prone to self praise as to the criticism of their colleagues. It is the new rogue’s gallery, where the one who speaks most unguardedly notches maximum points. Dry humour, instant wit, self-praise and a bit of sexy banter — they allow it all to hang out. “People in the entertainment business appear on chat shows like these only to reaffirm their existence in the industry. It is all about image creation,” says director Mahesh Bhatt. “Slander is now legitimate,” believes Bhatt. Ad-man Alyque Padamsee says, “The film industry is now more competitive than it was and bitching is a part of it. It’s bound to happen,” he says. With dirty linen laundered openly, KJo’s dhobi ghat is the hotbed of a public display of lack of affection. Remember the shocking suds, don’t you? Deepika Padukone suggested that former boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor should endorse condoms and the three-flops down Sonam Kapoor, dissed Bollywood’s fashion sense. Kareena Kapoor snarled at Priyanka Chopra’s accent, Suzanne Roshan hinted at bedroom secrets and almost all guests on the gossip couch made fun of Ram Gopal Verma. Padamsee is right when he says, “I have also realised that this season, the women are more outspoken than men.”

Vidya to act sexy siren in Dirty Picture!

From playing a crusader of justice in “No One Killed Jessica” Vidya Balan will now be seen in the role of a sexy siren in “Dirty Picture”.

She will appear in a very bold avatar in the film. “It doesn’t get bolder than this”, states Vidya.

She told reporters “I have to work hard to portray the character of Silk Smitha because there is no similarity between us. It is really interesting that you play a character, which is totally different from you. I am very excited.”

Her character of Silk Smitha has been inspired by the late sex bomb who committed suicide.

In an interview Vidya stated “I loved the script and was almost shocked that they (Milan and Balaji) thought of me. I was shocked and thrilled because she is so unlike me. Silk Smitha’s sexuality is on your face. It is almost offensive.”

She added “Dirty Picture is an apt title for the movie. It is reflective of our perception of her. We feel that she could not have made a pretty picture.”

In the film Vidya and Naseeruddin Shah will be seen indulging in a lovemaking scene.

The duo had earlier done love making scenes in Vishal Bharadwaj’s “Ishqiya” but this film requires Vidya to get more passionate and intimate with Naseeruddin.

The love making scenes in this film will not be titillation but pure romance.

Vidya to reprise Hema’s role in Satte Pe Satta remake

February 6th, 2011

By Jilawatan

Vidya Balan looks all set to unite with her Munnabhai co-star Sanjay Dutt for a new bag of gags. This time, she will be reprising Hema Malini’s role in the 1982 comedy, Satte Pe Satta.

The film, directed by Soham Shah, will see Dutt essay Amitabh Bachchan’s role in the original.

“It’s true. Vidya has been approached to play the role essayed by Hema Malini in Satte Pe Satta.

“Shah wanted an actress who could look mature and sexy, traditional and modern at the same time,” says a trade analyst.

Reportedly, Vidya loved the script and is keen to work out the dates for the film in her packed diary.

Shah, who made his Bollywood debut as a director in the Karan Johar-produced film Kaal in 2005, is now busy giving finishing touches to his script, said a source.

“The casting of the other characters will be announced in due time,” added the source.

The 1982 original, directed by Raj N. Sippy, was a Bollywood remake of the 1954 Hollywood musical, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers.

While Vidya’s role in the new film will be along the lines of Hema Malini’s character of a no-nonsense bhabhi, director Shah plans to give her character a quirky update to match the tastes of Gen-Now.

It will also be in keeping with Vidya’s image as an actress who has been successfully playing very different characters, including a hip mom in Paa and the sultry village woman in Ishqiya.

“The heroine also had to be a girl who could match up to a senior actor like Sanjay Dutt,” said the source.

In fact, Dutt was reportedly keen that Shah cast Vidya as the heroine in the film. The original film saw Hema Malini’s character, Indu, fall in love and marry Amitabh Bachchan’s character, Ravi.

Much of the comedy in Satte Pe Satta arose from Indu’s attempts to get along with Ravi’s six brothers, who have grown up without any parental supervision.

Of late, Vidya has had a great run at the box-office. Also, after picking up almost all the popular Best Actress awards for her role in Paa last year, she seems to have become the darling of the awards circuit. She is on a winning spree for her role in Ishqiya as well.

Vidya’s upcoming kitty of films is quite an interesting mix. She plays a vengeful action heroine in Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani, said to be a remake of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill.

Milan Luthria’s Dirty Picture is a biopic that casts Vidya as the troubled Tamil siren, Silk Smitha.

Vidya has already created a buzz with reports saying she has put on weight to match Silk Smitha’s “thunder thighs” look that ruled in the eighties.

Her special dance number in Santosh Sivan’s upcoming Urumi has also kept her in the news, even as she continues to receive rave reviews for her role of Sabrina Lall in her latest release, No One Killed Jessica.

“It’s been a while since Vidya has done a solid comic role. She would love to play the central female character in the Satte Pe Satta remake. Of course, she has to okay the script first,” says the source.
