vThe last time they were seen together was during Kismat Konnection. Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan were reportedly seeing each other during that phase, but some crossed connections and several misunderstandings later, they weren’t even on talking terms.

Much water has flowed under the bridge since. But when Vishal Bhardwaj happened to see some promos of Kaminey some days ago, he decided to send a congratulatory message to Shahid. The text he sent to Shahid read: ‘You’re looking damn good in Kaminey. I just saw you again. VB.”

Vishal, who messaged from his new number that Shahid didn’t have, hadn’t the slightest inkling he’d reopen a painful old wound. Shahid was stunned when he read the message because VB was the nickname he had given to Vidya Balan in happier days.

So convinced was he that it could only be Vidya, that instead of calling the number the message came from, he dialed her mobile number that was still saved on his phone. Now it was Vidya’s turn to be stunned when she saw Shahid’s number flashing.
They hadn’t spoken in months and Shahid had made every possible effort to make sure their paths didn’t cross after they decided to go their separate ways.

She took the call, not knowing how to react to the situation. Shahid apparently demanded to know why she was messaging him if she had liked the film and didn’t bother to call. Vidya, who had found her voice by now, told him that she certainly hadn’t sent him any message.

A perplexed Shahid didn’t know what to say. If he’s still wondering how that mix-up happened, we hope this will clear the mystery.

Call it just a coincidence or comedy of errors as an unidentified number recently left Shahid Kapoor and his former ‘good friend’ Vidya Balan bewildered!

News has it that during the making of ‘Kismat Konnection,’ Shahid and Vidya came close but after their fall-out, both stars weren’t on talking terms.

However, a few days back when Vishal Bhardwaj saw the rushes of ‘Kaminey’, the director decided to send a laudatory message to Shahid which read: “You’re looking damn good in ‘Kaminey’. I just saw you again. VB.”

Incidentally, Vishal messaged Shahid from his new number that the actor did not have. Undeniably, this congratulatory message opened old wounds as Shahid was visibly stunned because VB was the name he had given to Vidya during their good days.

However, instead of calling the number, Shahid called Vidya in order to clear his doubts that left the actress stunned, as she hadn’t spoken with the actor for a long time. When Shahid enquired from Vidya whether she sent him the congratulatory message, Vidya blankly denied and said that she hadn’t sent any message.

Finally, a perplexed Shahid was left high and dry as wondered how such a big gaffe happened!

vidya-balan-pictureVishal Bharadwaj is in trouble with his latest venture Ishqiya. This is not the first time that he having troubles with the Censor Board. He has undergone the same for Omkara and Kaminey earlier.

Ishqiya has a strong storyline and has a brilliant cast consisting of Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi. The Censor Board this time has raised a concern over the language of the film. They made it amply clear about some compromise with the language has to be made in order to get a ‘U/A’ certificate!

In fact some according to a source “The promos had a line that ‘Naadi tale H**** aur Peepal tale P****” which was changed to “Naadi tale Khayenge aur peepal tale piyenge.” The same source also said “Now Shemaroo (the producers) and the cast and crew of the film have got together to make some changes to the promo so that it gets a ‘U/A’ certificate.”

The film is about two men who are on a run. They fall for the same woman who happens to be a widow. The director of this movie is Abhishek Chaubey who has assisted Vishal Bharadwaj for all these years. The movie Ishqiya is scheduled to be released early next year and has already ripples across. Hope all this publicity rules in its favor.

Candy floss love makes way for lusty dramas

hot-sensuous-vidya-balan-wallpaperWhen Anurag Kashyap’s Paro took her mattress out for some rough and tumble in the fields, women in the audience applauded her guts, and
men cheered her spirit. Theaters also erupted with seetis when the very same Paro rejected Dev in the last few reels of the film. In the upcoming Kaminey, Priyanka and Shahid share a lip lock that carries on and on. In Love Aaj Kal, Saif and Deepika supposedly make love before they fall in love. And in Ishquiyan, Vidya Balan sleeps with an uncle (Naseeruddin Shah) and a nephew (Arshad Warsi).

Move over candy floss romances, lusty dramas and true-to-life characters are the flavour of the season. And A-list heroines are not shying away from doing `bold’ roles if the script demands it. Even the Censor Board doesn’t want to play spoilt sport. “Love is getting more physical in Hindi films,” says Vinayak Azad, regional officer of the Central Board of Film Certification. “It’s not about flowers meeting or feet entwining anymore. It is more explicit and direct. Also, bold scenes are not restricted to B-grade actresses anymore,” he adds.

Director Mahesh Bhatt has showcased female sexuality in many films. “I was accused of introducing soft porn into Bollywood when I made films like Jism and Murder. The purists were up in arms screaming from the rooftops saying that Indian cinema had was geting eroticised. Today, the writing is on the wall -our films are getting bolder because the moral references of the nation has changed drastically. Azad agrees. “The censor board is an evolving body and needs to keep abreast with the pulse of the public. We are definitely getting lenient with filmmakers.

Director Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal deals with love in two eras. Ali agrees that love has undergone a metamorphosis today and has become more blatant. “In Rang De Basant, when Soha’s character proposes to Madhavan, it was beautiful. In my film, the lead characters in my film hang out together for six months, get physical and don’t even realise they are a couple till somebody points it out.”

Vidya Balan, who has a raunchy love scene with Arshad Warsi in an upcoming film, feels the women of today are no longer apologetic about their sexuality. “Women in films are are a reflection of women in real life. They know what they want and I’m glad Indian cinema has begun to offer women varied roles.” Imtiaz Ali also believes today’ actresses are willing to experiment with roles on screen. “Unlike a Madhubala or Nargis, who were concerned if their knees were visible, today’s actress doesn’t think twice before doing a hot scene if the script demands it.”
