After stunning people by taking up the bold role in her upcoming flick ‘Dirty Picture’, Vidya Balan has decided to go for butt pads to enhance her hips.
Reportedly, she is going to be her boldest best in the movie that is based on Southern porn star Silk Smitha, and Vidya is going to indulge in a lot of cosmetic stuffing to look like a sex symbol.
Actually, Vidya was asked to gain weight for the movie, but as she felt the losing process post the film will be a hard process and so she has decided to go for artificial body enhancements.
“While, the buzz was that the actress would have to use prosthetics to increase her bust line for part of the film (the very part for which she had to gain a few extra kilos), now the news is that some bulk would be required for the hips as well,” reported TOI.
Vidya Balan in a voluptuous avatar
Vidya Balan is known for her girl next door image in movies like ‘Kismat Konnection’ and ‘Parineeta’, and she said that getting a chance to portray such a bold character was quite exciting for her.
So much so that even the producer of the film Ekta Kapoor has worked hard with A D Shahana and Vikram dada, on giving Vidya a voluptuous look.
“While Vidya after shedding her kilos and the ‘plump’ tag is probably in no mood to gain extra adipose, since the shoot starts May 30, the filmmaker had to resort to desperate measures,” an insider informed TOI.
The party instinct in Vidya
For all who thought that Vidya was conservative and shy, this will be startling, but as for the actress, she is partying with her friends and co-stars.
“Recently, when Ishqiya won four national awards, Vidya was so elated that she invited the entire team for a get-together. Though she did not win an award herself, she thought it was a great idea to celebrate with the team which has made such a great film,” said a source.
And well, she also makes sure to turn up at every party that she is invited to.

Vidya Balan drops heavy hints about a budding romance but still won’t let the love kitty out of the bag entirely. Filmfare valiantly plays nosey parker
What is the uppermost thought in your mind these days?
Sleep, food and times with loved ones (giggles).
Should we make that ‘loved one?’
I said what I had to. You decode it.
Okay…
And romantic music on a long drive (giggles some more).
Can we safely assume you are over Shah Rukh Khan?
No! I’ll never be over Shah Rukh. I know I’ve been going to town saying I want to have an affair with him but the truth is I don’t. You don’t want to picture him having an affair somehow. SRK has this dependable image where you imagine him to be in love with just one woman for the rest of his life. Pity it’s not me.
How’s Vidya Balan in a relationship?
You’ll have to ask him.
Who?
Whoever I was, am, will be seeing.
Would that be Siddharth Roy Kapur (CEO, UTV Motion Pictures) at the moment? You’ve been linked a little too strongly with him recently.
You know, the initials excite me. SRK. Hahahahaha. Every pun intended. Well, Siddharth is the producer of my last film No One Killed Jessica (NOKJ)… (trails off)
Okay let’s try another tack. Are you single or taken?
Let’s just say I’m single until I’m married.
So are you relieved that finally you have been linked with someone else other than Shahid Kapoor?
I guess, not just me, even Shahid must be relieved! Its some kind of move from SK to SRK. Don’t you think?
The two of you never admitted to being anything more than friends. Are you still in touch?
Hmmm… See we got along famously during Kismat Konnection. But it’s difficult to sustain friendships beyond the film. But we do wish each on birthdays and occasions. We also did an impromptu jig at a recent award function. Really, there is nothing more to say…
Is there any resentment about your last relationship?
No. There is no bitterness. I don’t blame anyone. You can’t fight it if two people are not meant to be together. But it’s nice to have been through that than to have never explored it at all. Until you decide that it’s time to move on, nothing anyone says can make you. Actually, the most important lesson I learnt is that you should never use someone as a crutch to get over someone else.
Okay last one. What advice would you give someone who is trying to woo you?
Let’s just say it’s working (Smiles).

There’s something about Bollywood couples that they just can’t remain friends after breaking off. Till today Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor aren’t on talking terms, while Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan don’t even look at each other.

So one can understand the awkwardness that Shahid and Vidya Balan – the two were linked during the days they worked in Kismat Konnection – felt when they found themselves on the same flight from Delhi to Mumbai a few days back.
Needless to say, the two didn’t exchange pleasantries or even acknowledge the other’s presence. Reports say they simply looked through each other as if the other person did not exist at all.
Definitely no Konnection left between them.

The last time they were seen together was during Kismat Konnection. Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan were reportedly seeing each other during that phase, but some crossed connections and several misunderstandings later, they weren’t even on talking terms.
Much water has flowed under the bridge since. But when Vishal Bhardwaj happened to see some promos of Kaminey some days ago, he decided to send a congratulatory message to Shahid. The text he sent to Shahid read: ‘You’re looking damn good in Kaminey. I just saw you again. VB.”
Vishal, who messaged from his new number that Shahid didn’t have, hadn’t the slightest inkling he’d reopen a painful old wound. Shahid was stunned when he read the message because VB was the nickname he had given to Vidya Balan in happier days.
So convinced was he that it could only be Vidya, that instead of calling the number the message came from, he dialed her mobile number that was still saved on his phone. Now it was Vidya’s turn to be stunned when she saw Shahid’s number flashing.
They hadn’t spoken in months and Shahid had made every possible effort to make sure their paths didn’t cross after they decided to go their separate ways.
She took the call, not knowing how to react to the situation. Shahid apparently demanded to know why she was messaging him if she had liked the film and didn’t bother to call. Vidya, who had found her voice by now, told him that she certainly hadn’t sent him any message.
A perplexed Shahid didn’t know what to say. If he’s still wondering how that mix-up happened, we hope this will clear the mystery.

Call it just a coincidence or comedy of errors as an unidentified number recently left Shahid Kapoor and his former ‘good friend’ Vidya Balan bewildered!

News has it that during the making of ‘Kismat Konnection,’ Shahid and Vidya came close but after their fall-out, both stars weren’t on talking terms.
However, a few days back when Vishal Bhardwaj saw the rushes of ‘Kaminey’, the director decided to send a laudatory message to Shahid which read: “You’re looking damn good in ‘Kaminey’. I just saw you again. VB.”
Incidentally, Vishal messaged Shahid from his new number that the actor did not have. Undeniably, this congratulatory message opened old wounds as Shahid was visibly stunned because VB was the name he had given to Vidya during their good days.
However, instead of calling the number, Shahid called Vidya in order to clear his doubts that left the actress stunned, as she hadn’t spoken with the actor for a long time. When Shahid enquired from Vidya whether she sent him the congratulatory message, Vidya blankly denied and said that she hadn’t sent any message.
Finally, a perplexed Shahid was left high and dry as wondered how such a big gaffe happened!

Vidya Balan is glowing with the compliments pouring in for her superlative performance in R Balki’s Paa.
She may be a foot shorter than both her Bachchan co-stars, but when it came to the histrionics, she matched Amitabh and Abhishek perfectly.
Now she’s channelising her energies into Ketan Maroo’s Ishqiya where once again she is it pitted with two versatile talents Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi.
Talking about her sensuous role in this robust, earthy, love triangle, the diminutive actress says, “I play a village belle.
Yet I’m fully aware of my sexual charms and within the four walls of the bedroom, I’m unapologetic about using my guile and charm.
Vidya says quality work like Paa and now Ishqiya has made her realise that if she is patient, the right roles are bound to come her way. “Once again I have as many advantages as I had when I did Parineeta,’’ says the actress. “My filmmakers have realised that given an opportunity, I will not let them down.’’
The coming year is an important year for Vidya. She starts the year with Ishqiya and then moves onto Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Chenab Gandhi. “The decision to do fewer films is entirely mine,’’ says the actress who is now super-confident that when it comes to her career, she will not make one false move.
On the personal front, it is rumoured that almost all her heroes be it John Abraham (Salaam-e-Ishq), Shahid Kapoor (Kismat Konnection) and now Arshad Warsi (Ishqiya) are attracted to her. “Rubbish,’’ she flails her hands and says.
“In fact, I think none of my heroes even treat me like a lady. I’m treated like one of the boys. My heroes back-slap me and we share a few laughs and jokes. However, I don’t think any of them is attracted to me. If they were, I would have noticed.’’
Well, well…so even as the rumour mills continue to buzz about Vidya past romances with John and Shahid, the actress herself has rubbed her slate clean… and is looking forward to her knight in shining armour putting in an appearance in 2010. What should one say — Halleluah!

Vidya Balan is happy. She is enjoying yet another success in the form of PAA, hence adding one more feather in her cap when it comes to performance oriented roles. No wonder she believes that she is fortunate to have worked in the kind of films that have not just challenged her as an actor but also time and again validated her decision making abilities.
“The nicest part about the success of PAA is that it has given me courage to stick to my conviction”, says Vidya Balan who has one of the best success rates than any other contemporary actor is enjoying today, “At least I am able to do that I truly believe in. Whether it is PAA or any of my last few films, the fact is that all these decisions have paid off.”
She is indeed backed by solid claims when she says so. Other than PAA, her last few films like KISMAT KONNECTION, BHOOL BHULAIYAA and HEYY BABYY have been successful as well with HALLA BOL being her solitary box office failure in a long time.
“Yes, a couple of my films didn’t work, whether it was HALLA BOL or SALAAM E ISHQ, but then this is how life is”, says Vidya sans any hint of disappointment, “I don’t regret working in these films because it’s important that you go through those ups and downs.”
She does think quite highly of her fellow actor Abhishek Bachchan though. “It is very nice to be working with such actors because your guards are always down”, says Vidya who has earlier shared screen space with Abhishek in GURU, “Believe me when I say this, in Abhishek we have just seen the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more to be explored.”

After playing an ideal mother in “Paa”, Vidya Balan says she is ready to surprise audiences with a completely different avatar in forthcoming movie “Ishqiya”. She will be seen as a conniving, scheming woman in Vishal Bharadwaj’s dark drama.
“For the first time I’ll be playing a woman who is conniving, scheming and in whom there is a sexual aggression,” Vidya told IANS in an interview.
“She is an aggressive person. She is someone who is unapologetic about her own choices. Bold is the word I’ll use for the lack of a better word. In the Indian context, she would be Rambha, Durga or Kali. She is someone who is dressed from top to toe but oozes sensuality,” the actress said.
Set in eastern Uttar Pradesh, “Ishqiya” is a tale of romance between individuals caught in a web of crime, suspense, passion and deceit. Made by first time director Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Bharadwaj, the film also stars Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles.
In the film, Vidya sports a deglamourised look and mouths expletives.
Asked if Bharadwaj was the reason she signed “Ishqiya”, she said: “It’s always very reassuring when the producer is an established guy because when you take a film, you want to know that no compromises will be made while making the film and even after it gets released.
“Of course Vishal comes with a certain brand and credibility…but more importantly I loved the role offered to me. I wouldn’t have given it up. Along with that I loved Abhishek’s passion and sensibility. So it was a combination of all these things when I made my decision.”
The 31-year-old is also looking forward to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Chenaab Gandhi” in which she plays Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter.
After receiving flak for doing glamorous roles, Vidya has moved to author-backed characters in “Paa”, “Chenaab Gandhi” and “Ishqiya”. But she says her choice of roles is not a conscious effort to change her image.
“It’s not a conscious decision to try and stay away from a particular kind of roles. There is no effort for an image change. It’s just that I’m just being offered a lot of exciting work and I’ve tried to pick and choose different things to keep it very exciting for me,” she said.
“Of course, candyfloss is still welcome if it comes with substance, but the very fact that it’s candyfloss takes away the substance. So I don’t do that much candyfloss because it compromises on substance,” added the actress.
Vidya has earlier been seen in films like “Parineeta”, “Heyy Babyy”, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” and “Kismat Konnection”.

After receiving flak from critics, Vidya Balan has now managed to impress them with her performance in “Paa”. The actress is now looking forward to “Ishqiya” and “Chenaab Gandhi” to strengthen her position and says she won’t do roles she doesn’t identify with.
“Isn’t that amazing? It’s taken a lot of getting used to. But I feel blessed. I’m done with trying to be someone I’m not,” Vidya, who will be seen as Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter in “Chenaab Gandhi”, told IANS.
“I went through a period of tremendous turmoil when I was struggling to do roles that didn’t come naturally to me. But now in hindsight I think that confusion helped me pick ‘Paa’, ‘Ishqiya’ and ‘Chenaab Gandhi’. It’s gratifying to know today directors think of me for specific roles and not just as one of many choices.”
Vidya became an overnight sensation after her debut film “Parineeta” (2005), but later earned flak for her clothes in “Heyy Babyy” and for doing a film like “Kismat Konnection”.
Thanks to director R. Balakrishnan’s “Paa”, in which she plays a single mother whose son suffers from progeria, a disease that accelerates the ageing process, she has regained past glory.
Though she played a perfect mother in “Heyy Babyy” and “Paa”, Vidya can’t get along with kids in real life.
“If I hold a baby for a while I get stressed. In ‘Heyy Babyy’, the baby would bawl every time I had to carry it. In ‘Paa’, I had to mother a man who was far older. It took a lot of getting used to. The fact that Mr. Bachchan kept referring to me as ‘Maa’ as soon he entered the sets, sure helped,” she said.
A lot is being said about her aesthetic clothes in “Paa”.
“All thanks to Sabyasachi Mukherjee I think he understood my body language and my personality perfectly. And he dressed me up beautifully without overstepping the parameters of my character.” (IANS)
