Vidya Balan made a surprise visit to Kolkata on Friday to shoot for Rajkumar Gupta’s No One Killed Jessica.
On Friday, Vidya shot indoors at Debi Roy’s house. On Saturday, the action shifted to Esplanade from where Vidya took a tram ride to Park Circus.
Speaking about the shoot, a unit member said, “Vidya plays a reporter in the film. In her search for the murderer, she lands in Kolkata. The indoor shots are of her in a house, which she suspects belongs to the murderer. On Saturday, we shot portions of her taking a tram ride. Since her character is new to the city, we have canned shots of her taking a tram ride, walking down an alley close to New Market and visiting the Maidan.”

The back-to-back success of Paa and Ishqiya have shifted focus from Vidya Balan’s weight, challenged sense of style and love life to the prodigal histrionic talent that she packs.
Understandably, Balan is both pleased and relieved.
“I think I was trying to be someone else and trying to fit into a mould which people were not accepting. I’m grateful to those criticisms about my weight, dressing sense because I realized that I was trying to forcefully do something. I realized I just have to be myself,” she told DNA.

After Madhuri Dixit, Tabu and Amrita Rao, MF Husain has found a new muse. The 94–year-old artist has reportedly watched Ishqiya (2010) 12 times already — he had earlier seen Dixit’s Hum Aapke Hain Kaun…! (1994) 70 times—and is fida over the gorgeous Vidya Balan. He wants to paint her and wants her in his next directorial venture.
The actress admits that they have spoken and Husain has been extremely generous with his compliments. “I was so overwhelmed when I heard this, I remember reading about him painting Madhuri years ago. And a painting by Husain saab would immortalise me, though I don’t know how to react to the word ‘gorgeous’,” Balan laughs.
