Single at thirty, Vidya Balan may or may not be flirty, but she has been linked to just about every male star that she has worked with: Shahid Kapoor, the not so eligible John Abraham, and even Sanjay Dutt, who could well be her dad’s age!

Vidya fans are desperate to see her get hooked but her upcoming film, Ishqia, turned out to be a bummer because her co-stars in it are Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah, who don’t come through as hook up types, even ignoring the fact that they are very married with kids!

“Vidya is an excellent mimic and she imitates other actors with utmost ease. She is the life of our night schedules. She is high in spirits even at four in the morning. Neither does she feel sleepy nor does she let anyone get bogged down by work pressure,” a unit member said.

Vidya Balan, who was recently seen in a glamorous role in “Heyy Babyy”, is happy being called a demure Indian girl.

“That’s my USP and why should I shy away from it? Even if I tried to be a floozy, I’d be a disaster. Even when I played a radio-jockey in Raj Kumar Hirani’s film, I wore kurtas, skirts and other desi accessories. I’m not like a hip radio-jockey from Australia,” Vidya told IANS.

“I’d have been happy to be born 40 years ago and live my life in a sari,” she added.

Since Vidya Balan’s style file became a subject of national debate after Heyy Baby and Kismet Konnection, the actor is going that extra mile to make sure the focus remains on her acting skills.

Balan has hired a tutor to teach her the nuances of the dialect spoken in Uttar Pradesh for the Vishal Bhardwaj production Ishqiya, where she plays a con woman.

Though Balan speaks Hindi well, she is not comfortable with the north Indian dialect and is being trained by an actor from the National School of Drama.
